Abstract

IRCCS MultiMedica - Prevention of cardiovascular diseases
Physiopathology, translational research and experimental applications

This special issue is centered on the cardiovascular research at MultiMedica; The current research focuses on understanding the molecular and clinical mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis and related cardiometabolic disorders, with the ultimate goal of improving prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Our work integrates basic, translational, and clinical research, ranging from studies on lipid metabolism, inflammation, and genetic risk factors to large-scale clinical investigations and registries.
A strong emphasis is placed on innovative therapeutic strategies, including lipid-lowering therapies, novel biomarkers, and emerging technologies such as omics and precision medicine. Collaboration across disciplines—cardiology, diabetology, nephrology, and molecular biology—ensures a comprehensive approach to cardiovascular disease, while partnerships at the national and international level strengthen our impact on patient care and scientific advancement.
